Does anyone know how to edit sounds so that they sound like they are above, behind, and below you? Also sound some distance away and other 3D sounds like that? I use GoldWave and can make them sound like they are to the left or right, but not much else. Any help would be great!

That's a very good question, and one which I would like to have an answer to also. i'm not sure I've really heard anything where thesounds seem to come from above or below, but I know it's possible to do behind and in front. Surround sound. Sound Forge has the ability to do 5.1 and 7.1 surround by using multiple channels, though I myself have never tried it.

I veggly remember trying Sound Forge but don't think I got it to work. Maybe I'll try to play around with it again! Yeah I hope there is some accessible program out there for this.

There are some plug-ins and software which do this, though I've tried none of them myself. Your best bet I think is to get a pair of binaural microphones, and use your own head, or ahead with artificial ears. I'm going to try this soon with a barbor shop head once I get a hold of said microphones. Look up HRTF and binaural recording for more info.
